Quick NOTE of interest to Friends of the Spring Green Community Library:
This Saturday, April 7th, is the date for our regular Used Book Collection, and we are especially interested in MYSTERIES if you have any wherein you already know the perpetrator of the crime and therefore your bookshelves would benefit if these now- worthless volumes were donated to the Friends.
Why? It’s not a mystery! The Friends are sponsoring a Mystery Book Fair as part of the Spring Green Literary Festival on the weekend of April 27-29. Our particular role will be executed outdoors in the Post House Garden – weather permitting — on Saturday, April 28th from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., wherein we will present a vast variety (we hope) of used mystery books for sale.
HELP! We will also need volunteers to manage the booth, sell the mysteries and put a good word out for the Friends. We would also welcome a bit of assistance in setting up our table and tent. Call Susan Jannotta, 588-3141, if you’re able to lend a hand or two. For more information on the SG Literary Festival and a schedule of events intended to “Celebrate the Art of Mystery Writing,” check out http://www.springgreenlitfest.org.] ALSO: We had a wonderful turnout at our Annual Meeting last Monday, and the Readers’ Theater actresses were fantastic, if I do say so myself ] ALERT: Membership Dues need to be renewed at this time. You should have received a Membership Form with your last Newsletter – and the cost is extraordinarily reasonable: CORPORATE $50; FAMILY $15; INDIVIDUAL $10; SENIOR (55+) $5 and STUDENT $1. This year we are offering extra-special rewards for our Friends – a personal membership card that will allow for early sign-up for some of our most popular events, and one free book from our Used Book Shelves. If you can’t locate your Membership Form, they can be found at the Library. OH !!! And don’t forget that Craig Culver has been rescheduled for May 9th to present his “Success Story With Toppings.” Make a note of Wednesday, May 9 at 6:30 p.m. for that tasty and informative event. Thanks for being a FRIEND!
