“St. Patrick’s Day” Poem

By Florence Kraemer, 89
Formerly of Plain, currently a resident of the Meadows Assisted Living and Memory Care facility in Spring Green

March 17 of each year is St. Patrick’s Day.
It’s celebrated by the Irish abroad and our way.
Hurray, St. Paddy’s Day is here
We’ll make merry with a glass of green beer,
And we’ll have a few, and cheer.
We’ll eat corned beef on that day
And celebrate the Irish way.
We’ll chase a Leprechaun
To find his pot of gold
Which he sits upon,
To spend it before we get too old.
