The Spring Green Area Arts Coalition, in collaboration with local businesses and River Valley High School in Spring Green, presents its second season of featuring the artwork of students at area businesses.
Art At Work is a series of monthlong exhibits that brings experience to students with emerging talent in the visual arts by displaying their creative work outside of school and receiving public reaction and review. Each exhibit showcases the work of nearly 20 students and brings exposure specifically to one or two advanced art students.
Four exhibits are scheduled for the 2012-13 school year. The first in the series begins Sept. 24, during Homecoming, and runs through Oct. 15 at Village Family Dental, 240 W. Jefferson, Spring Green. Featured artists are Paige Leonard, a senior from Spring Green, and Mollie Lund and Kylee Johnson, both juniors from Lone Rock. The exhibit will feature 2D and 3D art and jewelry. The public is invited to attend a reception for the students at 3 p.m. Sept. 27. Jan von Stein, art teacher for more than 20 years in the River Valley Schools, will introduce the exhibit and speak on art as a vocation. Refreshments will be served. The exhibit is open to the public for viewing during normal office hours during the week.
The second exhibit opens the weekend of the Fall Art Tour at the Kraemer Library and Community Center, 910 Main St., Plain, Oct. 18 through Nov. 26. The reception for the students is 5:30 p.m. Oct. 24. The third show will be sponsored by Peoples Community Bank in Spring Green beginning in late January.
