    Mineral Point Opera House - Mineral Point   (Directions)

    Mineral Point’s film society, FilmzMP, features a variety of independent and documentary films with a focus on the quirky and interesting. All films are shown on the last Wednesday of the month. 6 p.m. social hour, 7 p.m. film. Memberships are $45 for the remainder of the season and include wine, beer and other refreshments as well as a snack and popcorn for the movie. Members can bring a guest to a film for a $10 fee. Payment for membership can be made by cash/check at the Mineral Point Opera House during any events or mailed to Mineral Point Opera House, P.O. Box 228, Mineral Point, WI 53565.

  • The Wyoming Valley School is the only public school building architect Frank Lloyd Wright constructed. This is a historic year for the structure, now a cultural arts center, which will be marking the 60th anniversary of its construction in 1957 as well as the 150th anniversary of Wright’s birth in Richland Center on June 8, 1867. Docent Mary Pohlman will tell the story of the school, relating its architectural significance as well as the building’s 30-year history as an elementary school, during tours 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through November.
